21. Parental Control
Parental Control enables you to control the access to the Internet and to specific
applications for each user holding a user account on the system.
Once you have configured Parental Control, you can easily find out what your child
is doing on the computer.
All you need is a computer with Internet access and a web browser.
You can configure Parental Control to block :
inappropriate web pages.
Internet access, for specific periods of time (such as when it's time for lessons).
applications like games, chat, filesharing programs or others.
instant messages sent by IM contacts other than those allowed.
Check your children's activities and change the Parental Control settings using
MyBitdefender from any computer or mobile device connected to the Internet.
21.1. Accessing Parental Control dashboard
The Parental Control dashboard is organized into modules from where you can
monitor the child's activities on the computer.
Bitdefender enables you to control the access to the Internet and to specific
applications for your children. At the same time, it allows you to monitor their
Facebook account activity.
With Bitdefender you can access Parental Control settings from MyBitdefender
account on any computer or mobile device connected to the Internet.
Access your online account:
On any device with Internet access:
1. Open a web browser.
2. Go to: https://my.bitdefender.com
3. Log in to your account using your user name and password.
4. Click Parental Control to access the dashboard.
From your Bitdefender 2013 interface:
1. Make sure you are logged on to the computer with an administrator account.
Only users with administrative rights on the system (system administrators)
can access and configure Parental Control.
2. Open the Bitdefender window.
